Global Citizen

Dominic Mishio is Country Director for Global Citizen, Canada. The Canadian office, based out of Toronto ON, officially opened in 2013, making Canada the most recent country expansion following Australia, the UK, and the US.

Global Citizen is a movement of millions of people taking action to solve worlds biggest issues. The organization produces the annual Global Citizen Festival since 2012 on the Great Lawn of Central Park in New York City where 60,000 fans attended by earning their tickets through taking action on extreme poverty.

Global Citizen in Canada has notably campaigned on global health issues such as the eradication of polio and education to assure all children have the opportunity to attend school, especially those affected by conflict or emergency. In September 2016, Global Citizen held the Global Citizen Concert to end HIV, TB, and Malaria at the Bell Centre in Montreal. This first of it’s kind event encouraged over 75,000 actions and helped to generate 12.9B in pledges to the Global Fund. The Global Citizen Concert was further amplified through a national television special.

Prior to joining Global Citizen, Dominic served 6 years on City Council in Leduc Alberta and founded ventures in, economic services, environmental education, and design.
