The Role of Design in Solving the Biggest Challenges We Face
Shauna Levy, President of Canada’s Design Museum, Design Exchange (DX), is a Canadian cultural visionary. Levy celebrates and promotes design, arts and culture accessible to everyone. In her leadership, she has secured travelling exhibits from prestigious cultural institutions across the globe, curated exhibitions featuring Canadian and international designers, and increased educational experiences for both youth and adults. She has invited and worked with globally celebrated personalities from Jeanne Beker to Pharrell Williams.
Former Vice President of MMPI Canada, Levy co-founded the internationally acclaimed Interior Design Show (IDS) in 1998, which she developed into one of the largest contemporary design fairs in North America. She is instrumental in positioning the City of Toronto as an international design destination, bringing some of the world’s most creative design minds to Canada; as well as building the international reputation of Toronto as a design destination.
Born in Montreal and raised in Toronto, Levy received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and French from the University of Toronto. After schooling, she moved to Paris, where her passion for design sprouted and her appreciation for its influence on everyday life grew.
Levy’s in-depth knowledge and awareness of innovation and passion for human-centered design, combined with her business savvy and exemplary leadership, promises more excitement to come with the upcoming expo and festival, EDIT I Expo for Design, Innovation and Technology.
